Volunteer Requirements for Coaches, Trainers & Team Parents

Marsh Creek Eagles relies on dedicated volunteers to run our programs. If you are interested in serving as a:

• Head Coach
• Assistant Coach
• Trainer
• Equipment Manager
• Team Parent (Cheer Only)

you must complete the required background checks and volunteer paperwork to comply with Pennsylvania state law, Pop Warner, and Bux-Mont policies.

📋 Volunteer Approval Process

All volunteers must complete the following three steps before participating with athletes.

Step 1️⃣ — Complete the Marsh Creek Volunteer Application

Download and complete the Marsh Creek Volunteer Application in full.

Required information includes:

• Name
• Address
• Date of birth
• Social Security Number (used for independent verification)

How to Submit

Bring the completed form to a Uniform Sizing & Paperwork Drop-Off Event

Head Coach Applications

Head Coach applications must be submitted by June 1 for the upcoming season.

Step 2️⃣ — Complete Required Background Clearances

All volunteers must provide the following clearances.

1. PA State Police Criminal History Check

Request online through PATCH (Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History).

• Create an account and follow the instructions online
• Print your Criminal History Record Certificate

Valid for: 12 months

2. PA Child Abuse History Clearance

Request online through the PA Department of Human Services COMPASS system.

• Create an account
• Complete the Child Abuse Clearance request
• Print your certificate

Valid for: 5 years

3. PA Residency Requirement

This requirement depends on how long you have lived in Pennsylvania.

If you have lived continuously in PA for the past 10 years:

Complete the Bux-Mont Volunteer Affidavit

Requirements:

• Fill out your current address on page 1
• Sign page 2
• Witness signature required (notary is NOT required)

If you have NOT lived in PA for the past 10 years:

You must complete a Federal Criminal History Check (FBI Fingerprinting).

Steps:

• Register online through the fingerprinting provider
• Visit a fingerprinting location
• Print your clearance results

4. USA Football Heads Up Certification

(Football Coaches & Trainers Only)

Anyone involved in football instruction must complete USA Football Heads Up Certification.

• This certification must be completed every year
• Create an account with USA Football
• Do NOT register for the course until you receive a voucher code from Marsh Creek Eagles (this allows you to complete the course for free)

Step 3️⃣ — Submit Your Clearance Packet

Print all completed documents and provide them to:

• Your Head Coach
OR
• Your assigned Team Contact

All paperwork must be submitted before the first day of camp.

⚠️ Important Reminder

For safety and liability reasons, volunteers cannot participate with athletes until all paperwork has been submitted and approved.

Please also:

• Keep copies of your clearances for your records
• Note that Marsh Creek does not store previous year’s clearances for privacy reasons
