Coach Calvaresi and his staff had the Eagles fired up and r= eady to play on a rain soaked field against a tough Northampton Indians team which came into the game with a 3-1 record. Their quick start w= as fueled by Ryan Barton when he recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff. The Eagles then marched = down the field behind strong blocking by their offensive linemen – Nick Domeier (who also had a big first down grab during the opening drive), Garrett Farmer, Jason Reynolds, Austin Jankowski, Will Burg= ess, Nick Calvaresi and Noah Hahn. Grant “G FORCE” Pe= den set the tone with his aggressive running and capped off the drive by barrel= ing into the endzone for a 6-0 lead on their first = drive of the game. Jason “BIG FOOT” Reyn= olds booted the extra point for a quick 8-0 lead. The Eagles scored on some big plays as well with a couple TDs greater than 40 yards. QB Dan “The Man” Zahniser continued his strong play this season with a beautiful pass to TE Noah Hahn who outran the Indian defenders to the endzone for the Eagles’s = second TD. Gannon Vitelli completed the s= coring with a long TD gallop in the second half as he fought his way outside and t= hen easily outran the defenders for another long score. Jason Reynolds continued his impressive kicking by adding another extra point kick to complete the scoring. Other key offensive contributors were K= elsey Launi, Will Burgess and Jason Reynolds who each had s= ome hard earned first down carries. Austin Jankowski led t= he team with a couple of nice receptions; including a “heads up” play when he snagged a pass which was deflected off his teamm= ates helmet.

The Eagl= es defense was solid all afternoon but Jack “I fought the Law and the Law won” Lawton came up with the play of the game when he intercepted an Indians pass inside our own 10 yard line with less than one m= inute to halftime. The big interception prevented the Indians from cutting the lead in half and kept the momentum w= ith the Eagles heading into halftime. = The tough Eagles defense prevented the Indians from making any big plays as Ori= on Sanders, Brendan Milano, Jarred Desrocher, Conn= or Birzes, Kevin Boyle, Paul Marron= e, Matthew Gemmell and Sean Young all contributed.= Nick Calvaresi, Jason Reynolds, Grant Peden and Will Burgess co= ntinue to lead the Eagles defense with their aggressive and attacking style of play. The win was the third in a r= ow for Coach Calvaresi’s team and = they’ve outscored their opponents 52-6 during the winning streak. This Eagles victory was a true team eff= ort!!
