The Marsh Creek Eagles Jr. PeeWee 105lb team # 2 moved to= a record of 3‐0 with a hard fought victory over the Pennridge Green Jackets, 14‐0 on the Green Jackets home field. On a hot and humid afternoon, on a rain drenched= field, the Eagles offense wasted no time moving the ball downfield behind g= reat blocking by Matt Geary, Max Savidge, Charlie LaShell, John Toler, Colby Burke, Michael Clarke, Mat= t Holowsko and Alex McPherson. After a series of nice r= uns, the Eagles went to the air and Michael Risser l= obbed a perfect strike to Tucker Rolen for a 50 yard touchdown and the Eagles went up 6‐0. Extra points have been har= d to come by this year for the Eagles, but this time, to the delight of Coach McPherson, the extra point was good and the score was 7‐0.

The Eagl= es defense, which has yet to give up any points this season, was put to the test early. It was clear from the start that the Green Jackets would try to control the line of scrimmage and try to grind out yar= ds on the ground. The Eagles defense countered this grueling ground game by frequently substituting players and keeping a fresh line of defenders on the attack. On their first series, the Green Jackets moved the ball inside Marsh Creek territory, but the Eagles defense stiffened, behind great tackling by= AJ Gripton, Will Umberger and Alex McPherson. The Green Jackets turned the ball back to the Eagles when they failed to convert on <= span class=3DGramE>4th down on the Eagles 25 yard line.=

The Eagl= es tried to score just before the half on good runs by Ryan Schmitt and Dan Chisena, but time ran out with the Eagles threatening= on the Green Jackets 25 yard line, and the half ended with the Eagles up 7‐0.

In the second half, the swarming Eagles defense led by Joe Fetzer, Matthew Clark a= nd Bobby Seefeldt kept the Green Jackets off balance and= great tackling by several players including John Toler and Alex McPherson keep the Green Jackets out of the end zone.

With the defense doing their job, the Eagles offense knew it needed one more score to put the game out of reach. In the 4th quarter, starting from about midfield, the Eagles started a drive behind great blocking and running by Matt Borman= n, Ryan Schmitt, and James Meyer. The Eagles punched their way down the field inside the Green Jacket 10 yard line and looked to be in great position to score. Just when it looked like the Eagles would score, a penalty backed th= em up. Not to be denied, The Eagles offense shrugge= d off this mishap and James Meyer scored on a gutsy running play right up the mid= dle to put the Eagles up 13‐0. Again, the extra point was good and the final score was Eagles 14, Green Jackets 0= .
