The Marsh Creek Eagles Jr. PeeWee 105lb team # 2 register= ed another shutout with a soggy win over the Souderton Braves 18‐0.

&nb= sp;

Even Hurricane Hanna’s rain and wind couldn’t stop the Eagle’s offense from scoring three running touchdowns and dominating on def= ense. It was an awesome display of teamwork and superior preparation in the face = of adverse weather conditions.

In the f= irst half, the Eagle’s first score came in the second quarter when Dan Chisena broke free on the ride side of the Eagle’s li= ne behind great blocking and ran for an electrifying 50 ya= rd touchdown. The extra point was no good and the Eagle’s were up 6‐0.

The enti= re Eagle’s defense was steady and unyielding during the first half. Matt Geary, Joe Fetzer, Max Savidge , Bobby Seefeldt, and Wil= l Umberger presented a stiff front line against the Braves running attack. Many defens= ive players contributed to stopping the Brave’s including Matt Boorman, Tucker Rolen, AJ Gripton, Alex McPherson, and M= att Clarke.

With abo= ut 2 minutes to play before the end of the first half, it appeared the Braves mi= ght score, when they moved deep inside Eagle territory. But= the Eagle defense rose to the challenge and behind a great effort by James Meyer, Will Umberger, John Toler, Colby Burke and Joe Fetzer, the Eagle’s h= eld the Braves on 4th down as time expired.

In the second half, the Eagle’s offense wasted no time to add to their lead. Ryan Schmitt returned the kickoff giving the Eagles good field position. On the opening series, with the Eagles on their own 45 yard line, and facing a 4th down with about 7 yards to go, Dan Chisena brok= e free again on the right side and ran 55 yards for an Eagle’s score, putting the = them up 12‐0. The e= xtra point was no good.

The defe= nse continued their domination in the second half and held the Braves to very f= ew yards. Good tackling by Michael Clarke, Alex McPherson, John Toler and Matt= hew Holowsko kept the Braves from moving the ball inside = Eagle territory.

After an Eagle’s fumble recovery by Charlie LaShell, Mic= hael Risser ran for 55 yards on a quarterback keeper aroun= d the right side for the Eagle’s third score of the day. The extra point pass att= empt fell inches short and the score was 18‐0.

During t= he fourth quarter, the Eagle’s did not let up and protected their lead behind = fine offensive blocking and running and great defense. The final score was 18‐0.
